Gasoline Alley Museum welcomes a new exhibit from Jan. 14 - April 30, 2023; We Were Here: Stories from Early Chinatown! Bring your family and come learn about Chinese history on the prairies through art and imagination, discover fictional stories written by members of the Chinese community and explore two iterations of Chinatown in Calgary.
Heritage Park is honored to partner with Lougheed House, the original creators of the exhibit, and host the Chinatown exhibit to tell the diverse stories of the Chinese community in early Western Canadian history.

Lion Dance in Calgary Chinatown

We will start oustide Calgary Chinese Cultural Centre at 2nd Ave and head towards Far East mall, back to 3rd Ave and end the lion dance at Dragon City Mall from 11 am - 2 pm.

Ushering the year of the Rabbit in our annual Calgary Ice Sculpture Showcase!
In 2018, the Chinatown Business Improvement Area had a dream to light up Chinatown with Ice-Sculptures and carvings during the Lunar New Year to celebrate what this unique community is all about.
Join us sometime this January 30 to early February (the date will be confirmed closer as the display of the sculptures a dependent on the weather forecast) during Lunar New Year as we work with local artists to present to you 5 life-size ice sculptures!

This 5th edition falls on the Chinese Zodiac - 'Year of the Rabbit' - with the display of five (5) life-size ice sculptures with unique designs
