Celebrate Neighbour Day in Chinatown with us at Sien Lok Park on Saturday, June 21! From 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, local artists will be painting the Giant Adirondack chairs in the park, and you’re invited to join the fun. Get creative and design your own mini Adirondack chair to take home as a one-of-a-kind souvenir. This family-friendly event is free and open to all. Throughout May, you’ll embark on a one-of-a-kind adventure through Calgary’s Chinatown, uncovering hidden gems, discovering delicious eats, and celebrating the rich culture and tight-knit community that make our neighbourhood so special. Each week, new online and in-person challenges will be unlocked through the Goosechase app—designed to test your observation skills, cultural knowledge, and culinary curiosity as you dive deeper into the Calgary Chinatown experience. Participants are encouraged to exercise their own judgment regarding personal safety and the safety of others. Participation is open to all ages, but minors must be accompanied by an adult, who assumes responsibility for their actions, safety, and well-being during the event. Photos or videos may be taken during the event and may be shared with other participants or used for promotional purposes by the Chinatown BIA. By participating, you consent to the use of your photographs, videos, image, likeness, and any associated materials for such purposes. Participants agree to release and forever discharge the Chinatown BIA, Board of Directors, officers, contractors and successors from all claims, actions, or demands arising from or related to any damage, injury, or loss to person or property resulting from participation in the event. Participants also agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Chinatown BIA and Board of Directors, officers, contractors and against any claims arising from their actions or negligence. Participants should ensure they are physically capable of participating and assume responsibility for their own medical needs and personal belongings during the event.

🖌️ Call for Artists: Calgary Chinatown Adirondack Chair Project⁠ ⁠ We’re inviting local artists to help bring beauty, culture, and storytelling to Calgary’s Chinatown! The Chinatown Street Festival is the signature event of Calgary Chinatown, held every third Saturday of August. This event was initiated by the Calgary Chinese Merchant Association (CCMA) 20 years ago, the Chinatown BIA took over it since 2018. The festival aims to infuse vibrancy into our community by featuring over 45 cultural, merchandise, and food vendors.
